HaBonim Ozrim

HaBonim Ozrim is where the Ozrim Program first began, when middle school students stepped in to help in our HaBonim After-Care program. It remains a core part of our Ozrim tradition, offering students the chance to develop leadership skills and build meaningful connections with younger children.

Ozrim can sign up for individual days or commit to a set schedule by choosing recurring weekdays for an entire season. Their responsibilities include escorting children through the building, passing out snacks, playing and engaging with younger students, being a positive role model, and helping to ensure HaBonim is a safe and fun environment for everyone.

Reoccurring Weekdays

Spring Season

Rather than using the recurring sign-up option, families can simply email Jeremy Savran with the reoccurring weekdays their student will attend HaBonim. Your student will be added to the HaBonim list for those days each week.

If your schedule changes or your student cannot attend on a particular day, just send a quick message and we will update the list.

After-School Activity Ozrim

After-School Activity Ozrim support our enrichment classes and clubs, assisting instructors and helping younger students get the most out of their after-school experiences. This branch of the Ozrim Program allows middle school students to explore their own interests while learning responsibility, teamwork, and communication skills in a structured setting.

Ozrim are typically paired with a specific activity for the season and attend weekly. Their responsibilities may include helping instructors with setup and cleanup, assisting with materials or equipment, guiding younger students through projects or games, and serving as positive, dependable role models. It’s a great way to gain leadership experience while being part of the fun that makes School’s Out special.

Spring Season Activity Ozrim

We love seeing our Ozrim students helping out in after-school classes! If your student is interested in serving as an Ozrim for one of our K–2 classes this spring, please reach out to Jeremy Savran.

We’ve found that it is often easier for families to connect directly rather than register online for these roles. If your student has a class they are especially interested in helping with, feel free to send a message and we can work together to find a good fit.

Nosh Cart Volunteering

The Nosh Cart is one of our newest Ozrim opportunities, run by students, for students! Each afternoon, a small group of Ozrim help operate our School’s Out snack cart, giving them hands-on experience with teamwork, responsibility, and customer service.

Ozrim who sign up for the Nosh Cart assist with setting up the cart, managing snack sales using our punch-card system, restocking items, and keeping track of inventory. Only four students can participate per day, so signing up early is encouraged. It’s a fun and practical way to practice leadership skills while helping bring smiles (and snacks!) to the School’s Out community.
