Here at Smith Jewish Academy, we are proud to offer HaBonim After-Care, a safe, fun, and enriching program for students in grades K–5. This year, we’re also bringing back the Alef and Bet options to better support families whose students are typically picked up before most after-school activities end. Each afternoon, students enjoy a balanced mix of structured and free-choice activities designed to support their growth, creativity, and well-being.
A typical day in HaBonim includes:
A snack to refuel after the school day
Active play in the gym or on the playground
Free-choice options such as art projects, games, and fitness activities
On Fridays, students wrap up the week with a relaxing, family-friendly movie or TV show.
Important Notes:
If Smith Jewish Academy is not informed that your student will be attending HaBonim and they are not picked up by the end of dismissal, they will be brought to HaBonim and a $22 day-of fee per student will be charged to your Jumbula account.
If your child is enrolled in HaBonim Alef only or in an After-School Activity that ends at 4:45 PM, and they are not picked up by 5:00 PM, they will automatically be added to the HaBonim Bet roster, and a $7 fee will be charged to your Jumbula account.
